– A woman in Saudi Arabia has reportedly been arrested by the police for having hugged a male singer on stage.

Reported by AFP on Monday (16/07/2018), Women who are not known indentitasnya were detained on charges of sexual harassment.

The arrest took place after Saudi police on Friday (13/7) then. He was charged with new sexual harassment laws.

“Criminal acts according to the rules of anti-harassment law,” the local police statement said about the charges against her.

Prosecutor Al-Qadi said the woman is under sentence of 2 years in prison and a fine of up to 100 thousand Riyal or equivalent to Rp 377 million if found guilty.

In this incident, the woman wearing a long abaya with a niqab covering her face was seen jumping onto the stage to embrace Iraqi male singer Majid al-Muhandis, whose songs are very famous in Arabia.

A video showing the incident has been widely circulated in social media. The video showed a woman running onstage to the male singer, who tried to avoid sideways. Quickly, the woman was later withdrawn by the security guard.
