– Former Pakistani prime minister Nawaz Sharif has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his corruption case.

Quoted from the AFP on Saturday (7/7/2018), the verdict was dropped in absentia because Sharif has not returned to Pakistan after flying to London, England to accompany his wife who was undergoing cancer treatment.

Nevertheless, many parties question this verdict. They wonder if Sharif will return home because of this verdict.

Reported earlier, Sharif fell from his third term by the Pakistan Supreme Court last year.

The removal of Sharif follows an investigation into allegations of corruption against his family. The alleged corruption of Sharif stems from a leak of Panama Papers last year, which made the media bustling about his luxury lifestyle and his family’s upscale property in London.

There has been no official information from Sharif’s response to the verdict given to him.
