– The Iraqi state is reported to have executed 12 terrorism convicts. This comes just hours after Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi ordered the expeditious execution of terrorist deaths.

Quoted from Reuters on Saturday (30/06/2018), a government spokesman said that this was done on the direct orders of Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi.

“On the orders of Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, the executions took place on Thursday of 12 terrorist convicts who have received a final verdict,” he said in a press statement.

Before the execution, on Wednesday (23/6), security forces found the bodies of eight men mutilated and installed explosives.

ISIS militants have kidnapped the Iraqi security personnel and showed six of them in a video posted online on Saturday (23/6).

The ISIS militants threatened to kill them within three days if the government did not release Sunni female detainees.
