– 249 inmates reportedly poisoned in Sendai prison, Miyagi, Japan on Tuesday (26/6) morning local time.

Quoted from Japan Today, Saturday (06/30/2010), Fortunately no casualties in this food poisoning case.

Initially the prisoners reportedly complained of abdominal pain and suffered from diarrhea. Those who complain about the same thing are known to eat the same foods.

Because of this case, there are at least two cooking facilities in the region closed by the authorities since last Thursday.

Rei Abe, the director of the detention center, said that the process of controlling health facilities in prisons is very strict.

Previously there has been a similar incident. A total of 223 inmates at Miyagi prison suffered poisoning in October 2017.
