$25 Million Lawsuit Charges Trigger-Happy Inglewood California Police Officers With Opening Fire On Three Innocent Unarmed Men, Killing One

INGLEWOOD, CALIFORNIA - A $25 million claim has been filed against the city of Inglewood on behalf of the victims of a fatal police shooting last month in which officers fired into a car, striking three unarmed men.
Michael Byoune, 19, was killed by police May 11 in a parking lot outside a Rally’s restaurant. Driver Larry White, 19, and passenger Chris Larkin, 21, were wounded .
Two officers had responded to the sound of gunfire coming from the parking lot. As they approached, they saw a man running, then get into the back of a slowly moving car. Police Chief Jacqueline Seabrooks said last month that the officers believed the gunfire was coming from the car and they fired at it as it drove toward them.
No guns were found in the car and police said there was no evidence linking the three men to the initial shots fired. Appeared Here

CHESTERTOWN, NEW YORK - Disgraced and discredited blogger June Maxam has reported one of her readers to his ISP for searches on her little blog… Obsessed as Her Majesty is with her visitor log files, evidently something popped up that displeased Maxam.
[06/08/08: Another North Country Gazette reader reports being blocked, says she's local (New York), a (now-former) daily reader, and was blocked within a day of searching for "June Maxam" on Google and clicking on a link to the North Country Gazette. The reader says she's never used the search box on Maxam's site. She says that she went back to Google, followed one of the many links to Bad Cop News, and now knows what "...Maxam's all about...", saying that things "...always seemed kind of strange..." with respect to the (failed) North Country Gazette newspaper and website.]
[06-11-08: We just heard that mailfiles identified as containing Maxam's Ez Web server account mail are circulating with 'northco2' appearing in the file name. Sorry, we of course don't have 'em, so don't ask.]
For those not familiar with Maxam’s many missteps on the information superhighway, she’s an internet troll who takes pleasure in attacking and threatening others online. Maxam’s thinks she’s always right and a genius - while everyone else is always wrong and stupid. Maxam’s virtual droppings are scattered across the internet, as is whatever standing and reputation she began with.

CHESTERTOWN, NEW YORK - A Bad Cop News supporter reports that (his/her employer) a large proxy/firewall company protecting the safety and security of many Fortune 1000 firms has permanently blocked blogger June Maxam’s little North Country Gazette website. This action was taken a while ago, but we just found out today.
Supposedly “…it would take at least an act of God at this point..” to remove her blog’s domain and Ez Web’s IP addresses from the list of banned internet destinations.
Our supporter provided legal access to two corporate internal proxy servers with which we verified that their networks cannot access Maxam’s blog. Above is the error screen (identifying information and graphics/logos removed - click for a larger image) visitors see in place of Maxam’s blog. The second company’s server returned the same information in a slightly different format.
At this point 1.38 million (est. by services provider) visitors are blocked. A “trickle down effect” assures that sites on the provider’s ban list generally end up banned in other proxy/firewall company’s products. The number of blocked visitors can only increase as the hours pass…
Considering the extraordinary amount of time and effort June Maxam expends READING her site’s log files and banning visitors based on their domains, search queries, or browsing patterns, maybe she’ll have time to concoct more bogus conspiracy theories (ie: “Google Spoofing“) or investigate “Jack MeHoff“.
Maxam recently (again) “suspended” her little dog and pony show (unable to resist taking a shot at two of her victims including Bad Cop News), while whining about her blog’s lack of advertising revenue. Her posts restarted a couple of days latter, with no advertising visible besides the infestation of pay-per-click spam down the right side.
LOL! No good content = no traffic = no advertisers = no revenue. Its really basic and doesn’t require a degree in Rocket Science…)
Bad Cop News can’t and doesn’t take any credit for the above action.
There is nothing of value on the North Country Gazette blog that wasn’t authored by others and/or previously published elsewhere. Despite this fact, Bad Cop News and/or an interested third-party will soon negate blogger June Maxam’s censorship efforts and provide free unlimited, cached, unblockable, and completely uncensored offshore access to all North Country Gazette blog content.
June Maxam Continues To Make Friends On The Internet (Not!)

CHESTERTOWN, NEW YORK - Disgraced and discredited blogger June Maxam’s recent hosting move from iPower Web to Ez Web put her on a server in GNAX’s Atlanta data center, which placed the operation of her little blog under Georgia statute, and (literally) right into the lap of a BCN friendly attorney in Fulton county.
Maxam posted false and defamatory statements about Bad Cop News on the 25th, and is now going to have to remove them, publish a retraction, or immediately face civil action in Fulton County.

CHESTERTOWN, NEW YORK - Disgraced and discredited North Country Gazette blogger June Maxam again seeks your sympathy and money in her latest spew of textual diarrhea, while blaming others for the total failure of her tiny blog to support her in the lifestyle of the rich and famous.
Readers are left to guess which business model Maxam hoped could have survived the damage she’s sustained amid her online attacks on hosts, sites (including Bad Cop News), and individuals.
Fortunately any reputable advertisers will Google “June Maxam” or “North Country Gazette” and follow the trail Maxam’s blazed across the internet in her continuing online efforts against others.
Considering the growing number of readers Maxam had banned for daring to read her little blog, it is difficult to call her a blogger, she leaves us the impression that she merely masturbating for her own self gratification.
Hopefully June Maxam will finally realize that suicide is the answer to all of her problems, saving future innocent victims from her misdirected wrath.
NCG Suspending Operations
Effective immediately, The North Country Gazette is suspending operations indefinitely
Over the past three months, there has been an attempt by certain individuals to shut down NCG, individuals who have engaged in an orchestrated smear campaign such as badcopnews.com. The NCG website has been hacked on several occasions, files and email accounts stolen and in some instances, republished on other websites.
Steven Ertelt of LifeNews.com and others have engaged in a campaign of defamation on the Internet. Concerted efforts have been made to affect certain advertising revenues. There has been intense harassment, even to the level of death threats which have resurfaced in the last several days. As was the stated intent of these individuals, NCG revenues have been severely impacted.
The individuals responsible have been identified, the matters are currently under state and federal investigation and await resolution.
Efforts to obtain sponsors, advertisers and new subscribers, to replace the lost revenues, have not been successful to date and we continue to encourage people interested in helping to underwrite the operations or advertising to contact us. It has become increasingly exasperating to have bloggers, message boards, and forums continue to steal entire articles without permission such as our series on Pinellas County Corruption, coverage of Troopergate, the Schiavo and Richardson cases. By doing so, they have been directing both readers and potential income away from NCG, further negatively impacting NCG.
We hope that we will be able to resume publishing news and commentary at The North Country Gazette very shortly. Thank you. 5-25-08

CLEVELAND, OHIO — Elsebeth Baumgartner is going to prison.
A judge revoked the disbarred Oak Harbor attorney’s appellate bond Friday in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court and ordered her to begin serving an eight-year prison sentence on a conviction for threatening a Cleveland-area judge in 2004.
Baumgartner violated the terms of her bond when she filed a federal lawsuit April 7 against the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy and public officials without Judge Shirley Strickland-Saffold’s permission, said Dan Kasaris, Cuyahoga County assistant prosecutor.
“(Prison) is where she belongs,” Kasaris said. “She’s exhibited contempt for civilized society.”
Baumgartner, 52, who considers herself a whistleblower of corruption, has spent the past eight years suing public officials and residents across Ohio and accusing them of crimes ranging from racketeering to involvement in child pornography. None of her allegations have been proven in court.

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OHIO - First she was disbarred. Now she’s behind bars.
An eight-year prison sentence for a Cuyahoga County conviction was imposed on disbarred Oak Harbor attorney Elsebeth Baumgartner Friday after it was found she broke her bond conditions, said assistant Cuyahoga County prosecutor Dan Kasaris.
“She once again failed to follow the rules,” he said.
Baumgartner, 52, filed a lawsuit in April in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. As part of the bond conditions Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Shirley Strickland Saffold had ordered Baumgartner not to file any lawsuits, Kasaris said.
“The lawsuit was full of typical Baumgartner slander,” he added.
In the lawsuit, Baumgartner was suing the president of the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy, Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Thomas Moyer, Ottawa County Prosecutor Mark Mulligan, Erie County Prosecutor Kevin Baxter and others.

Unable to confine her spew of textual diarrhea to her failing ad infested North Country Gazette blog, Maxam’s taken her dog and pony show on the road seeking greener pastures and a greater audience on successful sites.
Seeking online recognition and a greater audience, blogger June Maxam hit a virtual goldmine when she chose to harass us.
MAXAM’S GOOGLE SPOOFING CONSPIRACY THEORY
Our inbox was filled with email this morning pointing to a forum post and to blogger June Maxam’s North Country Gazette homepage.
Is June Maxam smoking crack, or has her deteriorating mental state taken a sudden turn for the worst? It is obvious that something is having a serious effect on her judgment.
Yesterday June Maxam was attacking Google, today her target has shifted to individuals supposedly attacking Google (no, we don’t know how she knows this, but bet it is yet another conspiracy theory), and her malfunctioning mind has implicated Steven Ertelt and some “cop hate site.” (Note: Bad Cop News is not a hate site. We publicities bad cops - good cops love the site and nearly half of our contributors are current, former, or retired law enforcement officers.)
Obviously, Maxam’s pulled this one out of her butt:

The North Country Gazette has uncovered a serious case of Google spoofing as the attacks, some of which constitute criminal activity, continue on NCG amid demands by Steven Ertelt and a cop hate site that certain articles be removed from NCG’s website. UPDATE: June Maxam is full of shit. We swapped email and a couple of calls with a Google engineer who happened across this post last night. He ran cached and current content from all of our sites, Steven Ertelt’s site, and Maxam’s blog through tests used to identify exploits and security issues. NO evidence of “spoofing” or other exploit attempts was found on any of the sites. BONUS: At our request he alerted the Google News team to the many questionable “news” items originating from Maxam’s blog.
UPDATE: Blogger June Maxam’s completely bogus “Google Spoofing” conspiracy theory quickly disappeared from her blog when it was discredited here.

Given the reference to her little blog, we are left to assume that Maxam was caught spoofing Google, or that she’s been hacked yet again.
“Google spoofing“, as far as we can tell from materials indexed by Google, is an ineffective method of hiding a really lame website with no worthwhile content, little traffic, and full of advertising and spam behind content that would be likely to rank highly in Google’s search engine and result in more visitors.
Historically this included a program on the server analyzing the user-agent field passed to a web server, the source IP address, the reverse domain name, owner/tech/admin information returned when looking up the domain, or any combination of those in efforts to spot Google’s web crawlers and hand them bogus content.
Maybe this worked in the stone-age - but employing it now will absolutely guarantee that an entire website will immediately disappear from search results returned by Google. We have been unable to determine the twisted thought process June Maxam has employed to relate this to Steven Ertelt (by inspecting www.lifenews.com and the HTML it produces under varying circumstances) or any specific “cop hate site.” (Bad Cop News runs on a virgin WordPress install and unmodified Super Cache, and Post Teaser plugins, does not employ “spoofing,” and we will make the underlying files from any of our websites available by request for inspection.)
June Maxam continues to attack individuals in her little blog teasers, promising the world some upcoming feature article chock full of details and “documentation” - but Maxam never delivers the goods when D-day rolls around. Instead she’s wasting her time leaving comments on third party’s sites, attacking anyone and everyone with whom she is displeased with (See below).
One email suggested we drive down to New York “…for a little one on one baseball bat action with June.” Another offered to “…take down the bitch’s website with a dDOS attack that will get her booted…” from her current hosting company. There’s also a standing offer from a hacker group to plaster nearly 6 month of Maxam’s incoming and outgoing iPowerWeb hosted email messages on on various websites, forums, and in newsgroups.
While we wouldn’t shed a single tear if someone were to beat June Maxam her over the head with a bat, or take out her website, we do not agree with releasing her email and involving innocent third parties.
Over the last couple of weeks, we have formulated a lawful course of action with the help of a site-friendly attorney, which will soon bear fruit.
PLEASE DON’T FEED THE TROLL!
Several emails alerted us to the fact that Maxam has returned to her previous calling as an internet troll, resurfacing on Digg.com as Scoop2 and URL.com as legaleagle flogging her North Country Gazette blog posts, attacking other’s posts, baiting site users, and being an all-round pain in the ass. Maxam’s previous trolling efforts here and elsewhere exposed her as a total moron.
Maxam was completely discredited when busted using multiple aliases (legaleagle - which she now uses on URL.com, junkie, daydreamer, and Get a life) on a Harvard University law blog while pitting her very minimal legal knowledge against lawyers and a site owner who (a real surprise for Maxam) knows how to read the site’s log files.
Maxam’s (aka junkie) last comment before her identity fraud was exposed below was “You can’t go around attacking people like you did with false accusations and then claim that you’re the ones with the credibility.” The site on which June Maxam perpetrated her fraud had previously not had to deal with “uncivil” comments, at least not until Maxam showed up and started acting like a moron.
Dear “junkie”: Are you by any chance the same person as “LegalEagle” and “daydreamer” and “get a life” — the Commentors responsible for virtually all the critical Comments to shlep’s Fair Use postings? I ask that because my webserver identifies the authors of those Comments in this way:

Whether or not you are LegalEagle, a quick look at the lenthy, shrill and highly critical Comments left here by that person should convince other readers that no censorship of Comments opposing myself is going on, despite my clear right to do so. I have not removed any comments that were already posted. I have, however, refused to print some Comments (or portions of them) that I believed were ad hominem attacks on Ms. Maxam. On the substantive parts of your Comment, please note: (1) there has been only one erroneous statement by me about NCG, and I immediately corrected that statement when I learned I was incorrect, making my correction on the Main Page of this weblog and informing other webloggers, although the claim had been made only in Comments, where it had very few viewers. June Maxam has recently entered some really bizarre and deranged comments, and has gone as far as attacking others under the delusion that they are somehow connected to Bad Cop News. Her efforts are bad enough that we were compelled to add a disclaimer to the comment sections containing Maxam’s rants indicating third-party’s are not associated with Bad Cop News.
Maxam is attacking individuals, trying to start online pissing contests, thinking they are Bad Cop News.
Knowing a lot more about June Maxam than we want to (more than she could even imagine) we realize that her path through life has been from one failure to another, and that whatever sanity currently remains amid her progressing mental collapse is minimal.
Others who happen across Maxam’s comments and posts don’t understand, seeing only a crazed, rabid user attacking everyone in sight.
When Bad Cop News was recently blocked by Road Runner/Time Warner from their subscribers the southwest USA, it made the San Diego Union Tribune. The only newspaper reference to June Maxam we can find is the two times she went to jail… Here’s June Maxam’s latest rant under her infamous “Scoop2″ nickname on Digg.com, we’ll leave it up to the reader to determine who the “nutcase” and “whackjob” is:
“A subpoena to digg should reveal who 5coop2 is. Badcopnews loves to engaged in misappropriations of names, identity theft, masquerade under the names and screen names of other people. Badcopnews calls everyone else nutcases, whackjobs, etc—he/she/it should take a real hard look in the mirror. Good for Road Runner—the anonymous coward at BadcopNews who thinks he can’t be identifed bragged about shutting off visitors to the North Country Gazette website—now he’s whining that Road Runner did it to him. Yeaaaaaaa Road Runner, his hate site should be prosecuted as a hate crime. The one who is about to be exposed is the “wizard” at BadCopNews and his buddy, Steven Ertelt.”
Note: A third party chosen to forward a telecom network’s North Country Gazette traffic to Bad Cop News. It was was not done at our request or direction, and there obviously isn’t much traffic.
While real bloggers and/or journalists seek visitors and readers for their material, June Maxam was recently exposed by Bad Cop News as spending her days reading her site’s log files and banning her blog readers. At that point the list included about 450 IP addresses, many of which are proxy servers that provide access to possibly many thousands of potential readers, and, according to our tests, it has grown in leaps and bounds. Bad Cop News had previously exposed Maxam for banning her readers, as a liar and for reporting one of her readers to the FBI when he couldn’t get to her blog.
We also highlighted the fact that Maxam was trashing her then current hosting company (sorta like shooting one’s self in the foot and certain to result in downtime), and when someone handed Maxam her ass back to her in a box when she attempted a boycott of that same host.

As a consequence of Google not fully vetting June Maxam’s blog, her attacks on her former hosting company, another hosting company, Steven Ertelt of www.lifenews.com, Google, Bad Cop News, and others are being wrongly classified as “news.” Recently they have started to disappear one by one from Google News.
June Maxam’s latest delusions of persecution lead her to target Google, Mr. Ertelt, and others, crying “censorship” when someone at Google News started ditching Maxam’s non-news attack posts. Maxam’s limited legal knowledge resulted in her useless quoting of the 1st Amendment in a context where even she should know it does not apply.

On the lighter side, several of June Maxam’s online comments are really hilarious, resulting in MANY emails to Bad Cop News, and have left her again looking like a total moron. She’s come up with some names, made up ones from years ago under a previous BCN site owner, and associated them with the current Bad Cop News.
June Maxam (As Scoop2) thinks “Jack MeHoff” is a real person (”Frankly, if someone like Jack Mehoff” and “Mehoff under mustbme“) - and somehow connected with Bad Cop News! Everyone who speaks english, except Maxam, can figure that one out: “Jack Me Off.” If she keeps digging she’ll hopefully add to her already substantial online embarrassment when she stumbles across “Ben Dover” and “Eileen Dover“.
We think June Maxam (Called by locals The Queen of Foster Flats Road) and her imaginary adversary “Jack MeHoff” would make the perfect couple :)

CHESTERTOWN, NEW YORK - We were just alerted to the fact that conspiracy theorist blogger June Maxam’s site crashed quite awhile ago.Oh no! Gotta check this out… Yep, down.
A quick call to our new inside source at iPowerWeb reveals there is a database problem. S/he directed us to another page on the North Country Gazette, an HTML page from a prior reincarnation of Maxam’s blog, which loads fine, and a couple of other customers WordPress based pages, which also loaded.
We were left with the impression that any issues reported by or related to Maxam aren’t assigned a “high priority.” Maybe ’cause of all the iPowerWeb bashing in her blog… Nothing like shooting yourself in the foot.
It must really suck to be June Maxam right about now…

CHESTERTOWN, NEW YORK - We just received an anonymous email from India containing a list of nearly 450 IP addresses blocked by blogger June Maxam. Any individual assigned these IP addresses are banned from visiting her little North Country Gazette blog. We were able to independently verify a random sampling of the IP addresses, and they are in fact blocked by Maxam. Also, many of the addresses have visited Bad Cop News in the past couple of years.
We had to discuss publishing this list, and even asked an attorney. But, since none of the IP addresses actually identify an innocent third party, nobody cares who is actually visiting (or can’t visit, in this case) Maxam’s site, the list has no intrinsic or monetary value, there are no copyrights involved, there is no “proprietary information” contanined in an IP address, none of the IP addresses “belong” to June Maxam, it originated overseas, and the Bad Cop News server is offshore, we decided they are fair game. If your IP address is listed and you want it removed, drop us an email (see contact page).
This verifies the previous Bad Cop News assumption that Maxam READS her server blogs, looking for people to ban from her blog, and blocks those she doesn’t like with whom she’s swapped email, etc.
While every other blogger in the universe is trying to increase the number of visitors to their blog, June Maxam is trying to decrease the number coming to hers. Fortunately there aren’t many visitors to begin with, so she probably only has to spend half of her waking hours going through her log files and banning visitors.
Remember this, the next time she’s screaming freedom of the press, freedom of information, first amendment, etc… Those only apply to her, not the rest of the country.

Someone “friendly” with June Maxam, and a prior source of info emailed saying Maxam isn’t smart enough to move her site to a new hosting company, is looking for someone to do it for her, which is the source of her bitching about moving.
The sender drew our attention to “Due to IPowerWeb and HostPC, The North Country Gazette is ceasing operations on March 31 unless a transfer to a reliable hosting company can be effected.”, saying that “…someone at HostPC thought to stick her name in a search engine and decided they wanted no part of her or her site. I know cause [really good reason removed]. It has absolutely nothing to do with [removed] contacting them, linking the our local cops to the failed move only exists in june’s mind. remember two years ago I told you she’s nuts… she is even worse now without her mommy.” [BCN: 2 spelling corrections. CHESTERTOWN, NEW YORK - Awhile back my wife contacted the North Country Gazette about an error made when they grabbed a news article from our local paper and rewrote it. She received a threatening message and supposedly had been reported to the police for harassment. They also blocked our computer at home. Ever since my wife gets an error message when visiting any page on the blog - even from Google. I tried from work and was able to view the site, but then an hour latter I was unable to do so from any of the computers at work. I tried again just now, and they are still blocked. I found your website in Google, the theme of which I don’t quite agree with, but you appear to be a common point for all things about this mad woman.

BCN: June Maxam READS her server’s logs, banning visitors based on some crazed method that we are sure that only she can understand. Normal people WANT people to visit their blog, but Maxam views each visitor as a threat and makes sure that many of them can’t ever come back. With a lessening number of daily visitors to her site, it’s getting easier for her to go through her shrinking log files and ban people. Eventually she’ll have excluded everyone who wants to view the site, and she will be blogging only to herself.
Don’t worry about getting sued or the FBI following up on a complaint. She has a crazy track record that spans years, and she’s not sued anyone she’s threatened via. email. Also, she’s not reporting people to the State Police and FBI when she claims she has. And any complaints she does file will certainly lead to an inquiry to her local law enforcement authorities, who know she is nuts.
There is really no reason to visit the North Country Gazette. Just about everything there is a modified version of random stuff that appears elsewhere, and since she doesn’t state the source from where she copied it or provide a link back to the source, it can be difficult to verify. The remaining items are mostly conspiracy theories. Maxam doesn’t have a problem with telling lies, so everything appearing on her blog needs to be verified with a reputable source.

Went to the site when it turned up on a search for iPowerWeb hosting company - and proceeded to read, visit some links, etc. One thing I was looking for was how to register and the fees for becoming registered.
Must have read too much because now I’ve been banned. It seems if you have too much interest, that’s a sure sign that you’re out to do something. I don’t know what, but I’m sure it’s SOMETHING with big letters and lots of !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! after it.

News Update 4: Keyboard commando June Maxam is back, after promising (again) to go away, changing it (again) to a conditional thing, removing the notice (again), and has passed info to an associate that she’s not going anywhere. She’s done this before, last trying to sign up paying customers to support her $8 a month blog with high dollar “subscriptions.”
A ton of email have been arriving concerning Maxam, one with some really detailed personal stuff that the sender thinks should be made public on BCN (we actually have to ask a lawyer tomorrow about just how far we can go with posting information). A few more folks who’ve visited the North Country Gazette blog and have been banned, or cannot access the site at all. They eventually end up on Bad Cop News, thanks to the search engines, and drop us a line.
Again, what is the point of blogging when you are going to block visitors? We received an email from an Anonymous member in reference to the NCG blog - for those who understand the implications there Note: Actions by third party’s not connected to Bad Cop News are not our responsibility! We do not condone efforts that have been mentioned in the past 24 hours, except one that is lawful and we are putting into action when we have time.
News Update 3: June Maxam is reading her server logs, banning those who visit her North Country Gazette blog. We verified this, as recently as today, with prior emails and one as recent as this evening relating similar efforts to hide her blog from the world.
What is the point of having a blog, when those who visit are blocked from ever returning?
Apparently June Maxam has some very serious mental health issues.
