SALISBURY, MARYLAND — The criminal motions for an ex-Salisbury police officer accused of committing rape and burglary while on duty as a patrolman were canceled Thursday.
Tracy Ross Sparpaglione, 26, of Laurel, Del. allegedly unlawfully entered the home of a woman he had arrested hours earlier in a domestic dispute during Memorial Day weekend and then coerced her into sexual acts, according to the Wicomico County State’s Attorney Office.
The criminal motions, originally scheduled for Friday, precede Sparpaglione’s trial Oct. 3.
He is charged with second degree rape, third-and-fourth degree sex offenses, first-and-third degree burglary and misconduct in office.
Wicomico County State’s Attorney Davis Ruark could not be reached for comment to explain why the criminal motions were canceled.
