DEDHAM, MASSACHUSETTS - A former Stoughton police sergeant is sentenced to three years in prison on corruption charges.
David Cohen was also sentenced in Norfolk Superior Court today to 150 hours of community service and ordered to undergo anger management training.
He was previously fired from the police department after 19 years on the force.
Cohen was found guilty last month of attempted extortion, two counts of intimidating a witness, and making a false written police report. He was acquitted of 6 other charges.
The charges stemmed from his abuse of his powers as a police officer to collect debts for friends from local businesses.
